Crystal Charlie Shepherd Morrow, 90, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Crystal was born to William Charles Shepherd and Myrle Pauline Brown Tanner on October 4, 1926 in Rocky Creek, Mississippi, but was a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama. Crystal was a lifelong member of Orchard Baptist Church. She retired from Sears and Mobile County Public School System, as the driver of buses 199 and 299. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and loved antiquing. Crystal was known for her independence, resourcefulness, and her strong will. She was an amazing and talented woman who always showed her strength in the toughest of situations. She was a widow early in life and managed to raise her 3 children by herself. Once asked why she never remarried, she said she was more interested in raising her children than finding a new father for them. That was Crystal for sure. Crystal Pistol!

Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Lee Morrow; her parents, William Charles Shepherd and Myrle Pauline Brown Tanner; her brothers, Vernon Edward Shepherd, Levoyd Tanner, and Howard Tanner; special aunt and uncle, Eunice and George McDuffie; special aunt, Shirley Karns Carpenter; and her best friend, Ruth K. Bullington.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Milton Lee and Bambi Morrow; daughter, Robin Lynn Morrow; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Joy and Rick Mercer; grandsons, Ryan Wesley Mercer and Ethan Patrick Mercer; her loving and patient sitter for the last several years, Kim A. Eubanks; and a host of other dear family members, nieces, and nephews.
